Audlem Gym

A health & fitness facility run by Audlem village volunteers for the benefit of residents of Audlem, Hankelow and Buerton and surrounding area.
Opening hours
The gym is open from 6.30am to 9pm each day including bank holidays.
Contact
To contact the gym team, phone or text 07742 447554.
Changing facilities
There are male and female changing and shower facilities which are available at all times EXCEPT when in use by the football club for home matches when the rooms become used as home and away dressing rooms for both teams. This is usually alternate Sundays during the football season.
How does it work?
Run by a small voluntary committee of Audlem residents, Audlem Community Gym is a health and fitness facility housed in the public hall annexe provided for the benefit of the residents of the parishes of Audlem, Buerton and Hankelow.
The air-conditioned facility is accessed via the white staircase to the side of the public hall (facing the playing field and tennis courts). With 6 pieces of cardio equipment (2 treadmills, 2 cycles, a rower and a cross trainer), complemented by an array of weights and strength training kits, the gym caters for all of your fitness needs. Although we do not provide on-site supervision, the facility is inspected for safety and cleanliness daily.
The joining process
You will need to complete the application form (download a *.pdf with the link below left. Also available at Williams Newsagent) and return it to Williams Newsagent in the village centre. We will then contact you with details of the next available group induction session, which usually runs monthly. At the induction (which is compulsory) you will be provided with your membership number, payment details and a small keyring fob which you will use to access the gym.
Can I have personal training?
You will be given basic instructions as to how to safely use each piece of kit at the group induction session. If you would like some more detailed instruction or a personalised training programme, you are free to contact the gym's retained personal trainer who will be happy to make suitable arrangements for you.
Membership/payment options
Our aim is to provide a facility that is affordable as well as convenient. Payment can be made monthly by standing order or annually by bank transfer.
Concessions are available for those in full-time education. For those students who move away for parts of the year to college and university but would like to use the gym during holidays and occasional trips home, we offer a category of membership called Student Away.
With this option, you will pay a significantly reduced monthly fee, but you will be eligible to use the gym all year round.
You will need to provide documentation to show that you are genuinely living away from home for large parts of the year.
We regret that, due to the administration involved, we cannot offer intermittent membership. Both monthly and annual memberships may be terminated at any time but if you then wish to re-commence within 6 months of the termination, the intervening months' fees will be payable.
Mobility issues
For those who need stair-free access, there is a lift available which can accommodate a wheelchair. If you tick the box on the application form indicating that you would need assistance with using the stairs to exit the gym in the event of an emergency, we will draw up a personal plan with you for this contingency.
Younger members
All Audlem residents aged 16 or over are welcome to join. However, for safeguarding reasons, if you are under 18 we will need your parent or other responsible adult to undertake to accompany you whenever you use the gym.
